تو معرفی ریموند کارور از این کتاب نام برده بودم. برای آشنایی و خواندن داستانهای کارور، یکی از کتابهای ضرویه این کتابه.
من ابتدا چاپ اولش رو از کتابخانه گرفتم و بعد چاپ جدیدش رو خریدم.
اولین سالِ چاپ کتاب ۱۳۷۷ است. بعدها بارها تجدید چاپ شده و آخرین چاپش (چاپ دهم) برای سال ۱۴۰۲ است.
این کتاب، اولین کتابی محسوب میشه که فقط از کارور داستان داره. و خودِ فرزانه طاهری، یکی از مهمترین افراد در شناخت کارور به فارسیزبانان هست.

با اینکه چندسالی از انتشار کارهای کارور تو امریکا میگذشت و نویسندهی خیلیمهمی در جریانسازی داستاننویسیِ امریکا بود، اصلاً مطرح نشده بود تو ایران.
همونموقع که مجموعهی کارور من درآمد، یکهو تعدادی از داستاننویسهای ما شروع کردند به مینیمالنوشتن و یادمه گلشیری گفت «ما رو بدبخت کردی با این کارور ترجمهکردنت»
